(24) River Run
We stood there for 20 minutes waiting for the rest of the 113 to show up. Brian was leading Sam and the lion twins to our location. They sat down and we all sorta formed a circle.
"Alright, please tell me you have a plan" Brian began
"What plan does there need to be?" Raph started "It's the same thing like every other fucking war in the past. We attack them, they attack us, and who ever has the most brute force walks away! any questions?"
"So were just going to fucking wing it?! You're starting to become Ro, aren't you!?"
"Eh, he's mimicking the right person" I said self-centrally
Everyone kind of turned to me and gave me one of those "are you serious" looks. It was my cue to shut up
"Anyways" Raph began again "They are advancing in small groups across the river much like we are now. We took out a small group of them about a hundred feet over there. I suggest we just keep pushing to the river and see and go from there, sound fair enough?"
I agreed with him because in all honesty i had nothing better. Brian hesitated, sighed, then agreed with a long, irritated "fine". We then slowly made our way to the river. The walk was only about 300 yards, took almost a half hour, so as not to run into enemies or to get caught in the cross fire of the other squads (about 20 other squads had made their way to the river for the battle). By the time we got to the river, a full blown gunfight had sprung out across the river.
It was quite a sight to see, even if it was in the total darkness of 3AM. The only thing that you could see is the flashes of guns blasting away into the morning air. This was unlike before. It was no longer Snipers and Mortars, but now it was machine gun turrets and assault rifles. Zed Was using his flamethrower to ward off enemies trying to cross the river, Sam, Jim, and Joe were on logs sniping, while me, Raph, and Brian were providing covering fire.
The sun finally broke the cold, dark night around at 6. Both sides were suffering a lot of casualties, but Yutell seemed to be suffering more. Bodies strewn the banks. Many of the Yutellian squads were backing off, and it began to seem the the rising sun was leading us ahead and closer to a victory.
Our ammo surplus was running low, and possibly at the worst of times. As we were finishing off the last few enemies, and the distinctive sound of diesel engines roared above the the gunfire. The massive Yutellian HAAV (Heavily-Armored-Attack-Vehicle) emerged through the trees, guns blazing, and taking a beating from RPGs and gunfire from Meka. But the heavy armor was not effected by any of it.

A Heavily-Armored-Attack-Vehicle, or HAAV (pronounced "have"), is en essence a tank on steroids. With 2 main cannons, seveal MG turrets (remote or manual). For Armor, it ranges from 300-600 mm, along with additional reactive armor. Its top speed is around 25mph.
